What is “Zumba” and why is it so popular? Zumba is a fun, energetic dance fitness program that incorporates numerous aerobic elements along with a variety of dances such as hip-hop, salsa, mambo, etc. Its widespread popularity has gone from fitness classes, to video games, to fundraisers and only continues to please its participants! Here are just a few reasons that are making Zumba all the rage:

  • Amazing Results – Many Zumba enthusiasts love the exercise so much because they were able to reach their own fitness goals with such an active and fun routine, without even feeling like they’re working too hard! In fact an hour-long workout burns over 800 calories!
  • Cardiovascular Endurance – Zumba makes getting to your target heart rate much easier than standard workout routines that you’d find on a DVD or in a gym by using songs that play around 145 beats per minute. If you are trying to build endurance, this is the best thing you can do for yourself. Exercising for prolonged periods at this rate can increase the strength of your heart.
  • You’ll Feel Great! – This workout is a great stress release AND endorphin booster, so it really does improve your mood. The music is so infectious it’s hard to feel down when you’re having so much fun!
